Competitor prices and capabilities vary by store and region and change over time; the per-sheet figures are the providers’ published starting prices in September 2026, before finishing, tax and delivery. Mail-order plants (Plans4Less, Blueprints Printing) list $1.31–$1.75 a sheet plus UPS shipping and one to five days in transit; PLOPLAN members pay $2.12 (PRO) or $1.99 (GC) on sheets beyond their monthly allowance, delivered the same or next day. Verify with each provider before relying on any of it.
The cost that is not on the receipt
Convenient when you are already there. Wide-format is usually priced by the square foot, mixed color sets are awkward, and someone still has to drive the set to the site. Delivery, when offered, is to an address, not a person.
Often excellent print quality and staff who know construction sets. Ordering is usually by email or phone, quotes come back later, and jobsite delivery depends on the shop's own van and schedule.

Comparison questions
Is PLOPLAN cheaper than Staples or FedEx Office for blueprints?
Per sheet, about the same as Staples and well under FedEx Office. A 24 × 36 black-and-white sheet is $2.49 at PLOPLAN; Staples publishes a starting price of $2.25 and FedEx Office quotes $4.99 to $6.99 depending on the store (September 2026, before finishing and tax). The difference is what happens next: their set waits at a counter across town; ours is delivered to the trailer next day, or the same day inside Route 128. Members pay less per extra sheet: $2.12 on PLOPLAN PRO and $1.99 on GC, which is close to mail-order pricing without the two to five days in a UPS truck.
Why not use my local reprographics shop?
Many local shops print well. What PLOPLAN adds is the workflow: online upload, price on screen, saved jobsites, revision-only reprints, order history, and delivery windows you choose. If your shop already does all of that, keep using it.
Does PLOPLAN print mixed color and black-and-white sets?
Yes. Smart Mixed prints only the sheets you mark in color and the rest in black and white, so you do not pay color rates on line work.
